Cheeky, sneaky drinks

Lately I’ve noticed a trend where everyone is having a few “cheeky ciders” or “sneaky drinks”, but really, there’s nothing cheeky or sneaky about them. How on earth can a cider be cheeky? I get the logic of sneaking out for a drink, but the fact is that the majority of these “sneaky drinks” are not had in such a context (and are actually in a casual, professionally acceptable situation).
